New Car Day

Yes!! I get to pick up my new car this afternoon, after work! Yeah, ok, it's the same damn car I have now, only two years newer, but it's still new! I love that new car smell. And I love that the car will be completely clean, without me having to do anything to it. I can't wait to go and pick it up.

Threw out another whole bag of trash last night, from one of our bathrooms. Seriously, how much crap can one family accumulate over 18 years??? A LOT!!! I swear, when I have my own place, I am periodically going through and throwing stuff out, like twice a year. And when I have kids, anything they don't play with anymore, gone! I can't believe the amount of stuff that my mom has saved, and still makes faces at when I tell her we are throwing it away. Stuff that's broken and doesn't even work anymore. This is how a house gets cluttered, because people are WAY too sentimental. I mean, there is some stuff that you should keep, but there's more stuff that you shouldn't. Martha told me last night I'm going to be amazed at how big our house looks once we've cleaned it all out, and I'm starting to believe her. My mom's room already looks huge, and she's not even done. There's still so much to go through though. Ugh.

I think I'm going to donate some money to the Tsunami relief effort today. There are so many people suffering over there, and what little money I donate will go such a long way. It's funny, cuz you think you have it bad off until you realize someone has it worse, and then you feel grateful that you have it as good as you do. Those people are really suffering. And even though I've lost my dad, there are people over there who've lost their whole family. Wow.
